True community where it exists at all today is fragmented. We live in houses where we hardly know our neighbours, our places of work and our work colleagues are often stretched miles across the city. We travel behind metal and glass. Even in churches, regardless of their size, relationships can be no more that a nod or a brief hello. This is not God’s plan for community; all of us were created for loving, authentic, supportive and hope-filled community life.
So whilst Godfirst meets on Sundays mornings, we acknowledge Godfirst Church is much More than Sundays, worship bands, sermons and weekly programmes, we are firstly a growing community that you connect with, a place where you belong, a place where you know and are known, love and are loved, celebrate and are celebrated, a safe place where together we pursue God and find ourselves and one-another.
We gather to share life through the week as Mission Communities, who eat together, worship, pray and reach out to those outside of church. We also encourage biblical "one anothering" discipleship as groups of two, three or four friends meet together as Threes for character conversations, spiritual growth and bible reading.
